As a New York native, Dj Carve spent his weekends clubbing in Manhattan listening to the greatest house and hip hop djs from around the world. So becoming a Dj came naturally six years ago when his passion for music lead to a successful career working in various bars and nightclubs in the Vail Valley. Currently, he is spinning a mix of hip hop and house, but works events that incorporate all different styles of music including country, classical and top 40. Carve believes the party is about the people and whatever will keep them dancing, he will play.
His musical influences include Tribe Called Quest, Aesop Rock, Swollen Members, Frank Sinatra, Kanye West, Ghostland Observatory, Arrested Development, Jay-Z, The Roots, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Jurassic 5, Dj Rectangle, Dj Tiesto, Beck, ABBA, Damien Marley, Armin Van Buren, Lyrics Born, Jose Gonzales, Missy Elliot, Sasha and Digweed, and Outkast.
While he specializes in dance parties, Carve is able to work with clients to provide the appropriate music for all types of functions such as weddings, corporate events, cocktail parties and grand openings. Specific songs, artists and musical styles can be requested so the event has the feel the client is looking to create.
Dj Carve has opened for Sugar Hill Gang, The Flobots, Mickey Avalon, Bone Thugs and Harmony, Tea Leaf Green, Phix, Eli and the Grouch, Who’s Bad, P.O.D. and Heatbox.
